Derrida screams in the night
Two « Scream », « In the Heat of the Night », « Derrida » : New notes on a few old movies. Old, but recently rewatched. So new again. For how long ?
Late February - Early March. Scream (1996) then Scream 2 (1997), W. Craven.
On my computer, in files, when the time was right, and for one simple reason: the release (on February 25) of Scream 7. For people of my generation, the release of the first Scream was a landmark event. Cover of Cahiers, and sequence analysis (this was still done, from the film itself) by EB, a double page which I thought it wise not to look at it again, even with half a closed eye. I hadn’t seen Scream since it came out. I haven’t seen the third one, which I’ve almost finished watching now. I don’t know if I’ll watch the sixth one before seeing the seventh. I don’t even know if I’ll watch the seventh one in the end.
